ShelterBox net spreads beyond Port au Prince

Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall is visiting ShelterBox HQ in Helston, Cornwall, next week.

‘Our staff and volunteers have been working tirelessly to send close to 10,000 ShelterBoxes to people who lost their homes during this tragic earthquake. This is a long-term commitment for ShelterBox and in the coming weeks and months we’ll be sending thousands more ShelterBoxes.’

One Month

One month ago today this site came up, and thanks to so many people we are filling box # 98 tonight. 980 people this site has sheltered. I promised that we would follow these boxes, and have inquired when we would get some of our box numbers. The events of the past 5 weeks have kept our friends in England jumping, but this note came this morning :

These details are sent to us on a weekly basis, when they are received
we then attribute the donations to donors and allocate box numbers.

Once we have done this we will send you receipts showing the details of

Due to the fantastic response we have had following the Haiti earthquake
we are experiencing a delay in sending receipts to our donors - I
apologise for this an can assure you that we value your wonderful

Aid to Haiti continues while ShelterBox responds to three more disasters

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — A pre-dawn rain shower soaked tens of thousands living in rudimentary shelters in Haiti's capital Thursday, an alarming taste of the havoc a sustained tropical downpour could wreak on this earthquake-ravaged country.

Rain collapsed cardboard shacks and soaked clothing and bedding at the Marassa 14 camp, where about 2,500 earthquake-displaced people live in a dry riverbed. People scrambled to shore up leaks.
